Festival goers ward off rain

LAKE IN THE HILLS – Dom and Sue Hefner of Algonquin were among hundreds who lined Miller Road in anticipation for the parade at the Lake in the Hills Summer Sunset Festival at Sunset Park.

The couple brought along their seven-year old son, Michael, to have a family day out; also hoping the rain would hold off long enough for them to take advantage of what the festival has to offer.

“This is a really nice fest,” Dom Hefner said. “We tried to get here early so we could catch the parade because it’s usually pretty good and we enjoy it. Hopefully we can stick around for some rides too, before we get poured out.”
