Former Chicago Bear appointed to lottery board
CHICAGO – Gov. Pat Quinn has appointed a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears Super Bowl team to the state's Lottery Control Board.
Quinn appointed Gary Fencik to the board. Fencik is a former safety and captain of the Bears defense. Quinn's appointment is temporary pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate. Until then Fencik is an acting member of the board.
The board advises the lottery superintendent and director of the state Department of Revenue on the Illinois Lottery. It also hears complaints about violations of state lottery law, among other duties.
