Robber hits McHenry bank
McHENRY – Paul Hoffman saw two squad cars and yellow police tape, causing him to pause as he headed into an eyeglass store Tuesday afternoon.
“Something’s happened, I thought,” said Hoffman, of Wonder Lake. “It looks like a marked-off place. I thought there might have been a shooting.”
Two doors down from Sears Optical, McHenry police had swarmed the Charter One Bank at 2058 N. Richmond Road after a robbery about 1:45 p.m.
