Ventura eyes Santiago for Sunday start

CHICAGO – Left-hander Hector Santiago appears likely to earn another start this weekend.

Manager Robin Ventura said today that Santiago "probably" will start Sunday versus the Kansas City Royals. Ventura also said he might try to find a day or two of added rest for Chris Sale, but there are no plans to skip a start.

Catcher A.J. Pierzynski returns to the lineup with right-hander P.J. Walters (2-2, 5.40 ERA) on the mound for the Twins. Jake Peavy (9-10, 3.28) tries to turn around his misfortunes in his start today. In his last five starts, he is 0-3 with a 4.36 ERA with 37 hits allowed and 25 strikeouts. Sox starters own a 7.47 ERA in the last eight games with opponents hitting .286.

Alejandro De Aza gets the day giving Dewayne Wise the start in center field and will also lead off.
