Children’s author
to visit Heritage Fest

WEST DUNDEE – Children’s author G.M. Moore will appear at Heritage Fest in West Dundee to sign copies of her “Up North Adventure” series.

The series, which ranks in Amazon’s Top 100 in the outdoor and fishing genres, includes “Muskie Attack,” “Ancient Elk Hunt” and “Snakehead Invasion.”

The author will have a booth in the vendor area along the Riverwalk from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept 16.

Books will be available for purchase for $10 each or $25 for a set.

Moore’s three-part, young adult series combines a Gary Paulsen-esque exhilaration for the outdoors with a problem-solving duo the likes of The Hardy Boys.

The action-adventure series targets ages 9 to 12 and is based on the author’s experiences growing up exploring the lakes of Hayward and Minong, Wis.

All three books won the Editor’s Choice Award through online publisher iUniverse Inc. “Muskie Attack” and “Ancient Elk Hunt” also were named Star Award winners by the publisher and received its Reader’s Choice Award.

“Ancient Elk Hunt” was a finalist in the juvenile fiction category in the 2010 Book of the Year Awards by ForeWord Reviews.

Moore lives in Evanston.
