Scam targets Illinois businesses

CHICAGO — State officials are warning Illinois businesses of a scam that attempts to collect a bogus fee.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White says a firm called Corporate Records Services is contacting businesses around the state. It asks businesses to collect $125 and fill out the corporation's "annual minutes records form."

However, Illinois law doesn't require such a form or paying that fee.
