Sex-at-school case for former Woodstock North teacher dismissed
WOODSTOCK – A judge Thursday threw out charges against a former Woodstock North High School teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student in a school storage room.
James B. Guttridge, 38, of Rockford, had been charged with criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with alleged incidents in the spring of 2009.
In a finding at the end of the prosecution’s case and before the defense presented any evidence, McHenry County Judge Joseph Condon found that prosecutors had not met their burden of proof.
