Taxpayers deserve better
To the Editor:
I attended the meeting on Aug. 22 regarding the proposed roundabout on Route 20 and Harmony Road in unincorporated Coral Township. Coral Township Supervisor Roger Naylor and state Rep. Jack Franks did an outstanding job of bringing residents together to get their questions answered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. If it were not for the efforts of these two public servants, citizens would have had no opportunity for input on the issue.
Both Naylor and Franks expressed their disappointment that they learned of the proposal while reading it in the newspaper. It became clear as the IDOT employees responded to questions that they had bypassed the public officials and instead had gone directly to McHenry County.
