To the Editor:
It is disturbing to hear such comments that President Barack Obama is not a leader and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is. Where does state Rep. Mike Tryon get his facts?
The RNC has mixed emotions about the ability of Romney to lead after his experience in Massachusetts. His state ranked 47 out of 50 in unemployment, and the RNC will not even discuss Romneycare. And he will produce jobs? How?
Both Obama and Romney are fine men, no question. But, let’s be fair. It takes more than one term in office for Obama to erase the damage of eight years of George Bush (who spent down a surplus from Clinton and then some) while trying to lead the country with two wars, neither of which he started. Is the GOP so tunnel-visioned that it forgets who is actually calling the shots for Romney? The Tea Party radicals. Do we want their agenda?
The voters are scared. Yes, they see a non-cooperative Congress that has refused to pass any bills or appointments by Obama, and a non-elected official who has the GOP held captive by his rule of no tax increases. He would rather see the country fail than be fiscally responsible.
Lord help us if these people get into office.
