Missed tolls may up court traffic
Tollway scofflaws beware: the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority might come after you in court.
For the first time, the toll authority began filing lawsuits Friday against its worst toll violators.
“We are sending a clear and strong message to these chronic violators who use the tollway regularly without paying: ‘Your time is up,’ “ Executive Director Kristi Lafleur said in a news release. “Anything less would be unfair to the 98 percent of tollway customers who pay their tolls on time.”
