PAD a growing concern in county, nation
Ed Augustin never thought twice about the cramps he got in his leg while walking around his Lake Barrington neighborhood.
But the pain worsened week by week for the 79-year-old, and soon he barely could walk a short distance without having to stop and rest. It then got so severe he was forced to see a physician.
“It was like a charley horse that wouldn’t go away,” said Augustin, who has survived two coronary bypass surgeries. “It was just constant pain.”
