Tigers prevail with last-minute score
CRYSTAL LAKE – If Crystal Lake Central has shown anything this football season, it is a flair for the dramatic.
Running back Darwin Stone scored on a 13-yard run with 21 seconds remaining, capping a 95-yard drive that gave the Tigers a 21-14 Fox Valley Conference Fox Division victory over Woodstock on Friday night at Owen Metcalf Field.
Central (2-1 overall, 1-0 FVC Fox) got the ball on its 5-yard line with 3:50 remaining and the score tied at 14-14. The Tigers won their season opener, 27-26, against Huntley, driving 95 yards in the final 2 minutes.
