Music on Main Street planned in Marengo

MARENGO – Elbio Barilari, a composer who lectures at the University of Chicago and is on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Chicago, will host Music on Main Street in Marengo.

The concert will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 203 W. Washington St. Barilari, who recently moved to the Marengo area, will introduce the Chicago-based Kaia String Quartet and soprano Amy Conn to McHenry County residents with a concert that includes one of his own compositions.

Tickets cost $8 or $5 for students.

Tickets are available at the door, at downtown merchants including Flatlander Market, White Lion Real Estate and Brandt’s Pharmacy, or by calling 815-568-8440.

The concert is sponsored by Marengo Main Street.
