County marks Diaper Need Awareness Week

McHENRY – The McHenry County Board has proclaimed this week as Diaper Need Awareness Week in McHenry County.

The goal is to encourage residents to donate to the St. Paul Diaper Bank to help families in need in McHenry County.

The St. Paul Diaper bank distributed 117,648 children’s diapers and 22,735 adult diapers in the first six months of 2012 compared with 78,399 children’s and 17,963 adult diapers in 2011.

County residents can get involved in the following ways:

• Donate: Residents can donate to the nonprofit St. Paul Diaper Bank, which relies on financial and diaper donations. Donations can be made to St. Paul Diaper Bank and mailed to St. Paul Diaper Bank, 3706 W. St. Paul Ave., McHenry, IL 60050 or online at www.stpaulmchenry.com.

• Hold a drive: Residents can hold a diaper drive to benefit the diaper bank. For help, call 815-385-0390.

• Sponsor a fundraising event: Fundraising events can build financial support and awareness for the St. Paul Diaper Bank. For help, call 815-385-0390.
