Crystal Lake eyeing network of bikeways
CRYSTAL LAKE – City engineers have presented plans for a network of nearly nine miles of bicycle-friendly routes that will link schools, recreational facilities and other popular places.
The Crystal Lake Bicycle Facility Master Plan includes bikeways that connect to Three Oaks Recreation Area, Lippold Park, Main Beach, Veterans Acres Park, downtown Crystal Lake and the Prairie Trail and Miller Road bike paths.
The on-street bikeways are made up of signed bike routes, striped bike lanes and other on-street biking options and will expand the city’s 2.3 miles of existing bikeways.
