McHenry soccer rallies late, stays unbeaten
McHENRY – Jose Albarran delivered a wake-up call for the McHenry boys soccer team Tuesday.
With his team locked in a scoreless tie, the Woodstock North senior forward broke open the scoring with 20 minutes left, and suddenly McHenry’s unblemished record was on the line. But the Warriors hunkered down, scored two goals and won, 2-1.
“After [Woodstock North] scored we found some energy and some urgency, and we played some McHenry-style soccer and ratcheted up the pressure,” McHenry coach Tony Caruso said. “Give Woodstock North credit. They played a heck of a game.”
