Retired Cary officer to run for sheriff

WOODSTOCK – A retired Des Plaines police commander reportedly plans to run for McHenry County sheriff.

Bill Prim of Cary is running, according to published reports, but he has not responded to requests for comment by the Northwest Herald nor sent a written statement.

Prim's would be the third person announcing intentions to enter the race. Undersheriff Andrew Zinke and Jim Harrison, a local attorney who also worked as a deputy for about eight years, are the other candidates for the 2014 election.
