War on women?

To the Editor:

A lot has been said by the Democrats regarding the Republicans’ war on women. If this war indeed exists, I submit that they’re inept at waging it.

Wars produce casualties, and so far, the Republicans haven’t inflicted very many. Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, and according to the National Abortion Federation, the first abortionist killed was in 1993, which makes one casualty in 20 years. From what I understand, there have been seven killings of abortion providers in 39 years.

Contrast this to the 50 million deaths attributed to pro-choicers, and it’s obvious who’s better at inflicting casualties. I don’t excuse any acts of violence and believe that this is an issue between a woman and God, not a political platform. However, in this war, the Republicans lag far behind in the casualty count.
