Better representation

To the Editor:

If I were elected president of the United States, the first thing I would do is eliminate the aisle dividing the two parties and have a random drawing of seats.

The aisle is like having one gang on each side of the street marking its territory, feeling safe in its numbers, and not listening to the other side.

The next is to forbid any attachments to bills. Each bill should stand on its own merit, without slipping in any sweetheart, “you wash my back, I’ll wash yours” dealings.

Why should we not expect our elected representatives to represent us and be honest?
