D-158 Parent Tot Center a place for residents’ children, interaction

LAKE IN THE HILLS – School District 158 residents who have young children are invited to check out the District 158 Parent Tot Center at Chesak Elementary School.

Filled with toys, craft activities, books and puzzles, the Parent Tot Center provides a place for children and parents to interact in an age-appropriate and stimulating environment, spend quality time together and network with other families in the community.

The Parent Tot Center is a fee-based drop-in program open only to residents of School District 158.

The annual fee of $25 a child includes unlimited playgroups, Tot Tunes, storytime, concerts, parenting classes and other events.

The program is open to children under age 5 as of Sept. 1. Children under 1 year old as of Sept. 1 can attend for free.

Registration and payment can be done any time during open play hours: 9:15 to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Proof of residency is required.

Families are welcome to visit the Parent Tot Center for free on their first visit during open play hours to see what the program is all about.

Chesak Elementary School is located at 10910 Reed Road, Lake in the Hills.
