The local event of the fifth annual nationwide Friends of the Poor Walk will be held Saturday at Veteran's Memorial Park in McHenry.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the 3-mile walk begins at 9 a.m.
Proceeds from the walk will help relieve poverty and bring awareness to the McHenry, Johnsburg and Ringwood areas.
