Health department offers free prostate cancer screenings

McHENRY – The McHenry County Department of Health will offer free prostate cancer screenings in recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Through a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the PSA blood test is offered at no cost to veterans and men age 50 and older and to those 40 and older who are at higher risk because of family history or personal symptoms.

Appointment dates for the 15-minute test are being scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McHenry County Veterans and Family Services, 5330 W. Elm St. in McHenry.
