WEST DUNDEE – The Dundee Middle School Parent Association and administration will host the second annual DMS Open, a best-ball scramble golf outing Sept. 29 to increase student use of technology. It will be at Randall Oaks Golf Course.
Last year, more than 70 golfers participated and more than $5,000 was raised for the association.
With a bigger turnout this year, the Parent Board anticipates buying laptop computers to be checked out by classroom teachers for student use.
The golf outing begins at 11 a.m. with check-in and pre-round activities, including “Beat the Bear,” a putting contest against former Chicago Bear wide receiver Marcus Robinson. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m.
A “19th Hole” Party in the upstairs of Dylan’s on Route 72, West Dundee, will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The “19th Hole” will include awards, food, a raffle and silent auction.
The cost for the golf and party is $85. “19th Hole” tickets are available to nongolfers for $20 in advance.
