3 people injured in separate overnight crashes

A total of three people were transported to the hospital following separate overnight vehicle accidents in McHenry County, according to authorities.

Emergency crews were called to the 7000 block of Route 23 in Marengo at around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a head-on collision, according to the Marengo Fire Protection District. Paramedics arrived to find two vehicles heavily damaged.

The car-versus-minivan collision is under investigation, according to fire officials. The motorists were wearing their seatbelts and airbags were deployed.

The two male drivers were transported to Swedish American Hospital and Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

A motorist was also transported to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock for precautionary reasons after a rollover accident at around 1 a.m. in Ridgefield.

The driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to negotiate a turn in the 4000 block of South Country Club Road, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. The car left the roadway, rolled over and landed in the front yard of a home in that area.

Emergency crews arrived to find the driver and three occupants out of the vehicle. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
