43 charged in gang-related investigation
CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say dozens of alleged members and associates of the Latin Kings street gang have been cited for drug violations.
Federal and local law enforcement announced the charges Thursday against 43 defendants. Most defendants are charged for roles in two drug-trafficking organizations that supplied heroin, cocaine and marijuana to dealers in Chicago and the south suburbs. Agents seized money, firearms and drugs as part of a two-year investigation.
The drug and gun trafficking investigation was led by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
