To the Editor:
Let me see if I have this straight. The Illinois Department of Transportation has a proposal for the improvement of the Route 20 and Harmony Road intersection, and the state representative for the area said he only found out about it while reading the newspaper.
My research has shown that state representatives are routinely notified early on about road improvements being explored for their districts.
In this case, one of the representative’s followers has, as illogical as it may seem, been recruited to send a letter attacking the County Board chairman on this subject.
Maybe the local state representative, a participant in the fiscally worst state government in the U.S., would have been more aware of his constituents’ concerns if he had been more interested in them than waging a personal war against the financially responsible McHenry County government.
