No single ruler
To the Editor:
The McHenry County Board is made up of 24 elected men and women from all parts of the county. It is represented by both major parties and, in a strictly parliamentary manner, elects the chairman. It has been operating in this democratic manner for several decades.
State Rep. Jack Franks placed a referendum on the ballot for a new, additional management layer, in form of a county executive.
