OLD TIME COUNTRY HARVEST FESTIVAL
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13
WHERE: downtown Algonquin

FISH HATCHERY GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION
WHEN: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 15
WHERE: Spring Grove Hatchery Park, 2314 Hatchery Road
INFO: Celebration of the grand opening of Spring Grove Hatchery Park. The event will include live music, antique cars, free popcorn and crafts for children. The visitors center will be open, as well as the nature trail. Participants are encouraged to bring a fishing pole and bait. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m. Attendees also can help name Hatchery Park’s mascot – the resident snapping turtle. “FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL”
WHEN: Sept. 14-16
WHERE: Marengo Community High School, 110 Franks Road, Marengo
INFO: Christian Arts Student Theatre Adult Production. “Footloose” celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind. Family friendly. MUSEUM SHOWCASE WEEKEND

MONTINI FAMILY MUSIC FESTIVAL

“SPOKEN WORD”
WHEN:  7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 15

PEDAL OR WALK FOR PADS

WHERE: Moraine Hills State Park, 1510 S. River Road, McHenry
INFO: Homeless services benefit for McHenry County PADS, a program of Pioneer Center for Human Services. Offering multiple courses for both novice and more experienced bike riders and a walking path for walkers. Also featuring music, children’s bike parade, raffles and lunch. Registration and rider check-in will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Raffles and lunch will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration fee: $10 a person, $30 family of five. Information: 815-759-7050.
