United Way officials shoot for $1.6 million

McHENRY – The United Way of Greater McHenry County kicked off its campaign with a fundraising goal that is slightly less than in previous years.

The United Way last year fell short of its $1.8 million annual campaign goal, raising $1,568,660. The organization this year has set its goal at $1.6 million.

Officials broke down fundraising efforts over the past five years to come up with a number they believe is attainable, Executive Director Steve Otten said.
