Trial set for woman accused in deadly Benton wreck
BENTON (AP) — A trial is scheduled for early next year for a southern Illinois woman accused of causing a deadly car wreck.
Thirty-one-year-old Tabitha Weeks of rural Benton has pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence.
Franklin County authorities say Weeks' car crossed into the oncoming path of a family's minivan in June, killing that vehicle's 41-year-old driver, Craig Payne of Bonnie, and injuring several other family members.
