To the Editor:
Last week marked the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., in which almost 3,000 people lost their lives.
Of these, 411 were emergency workers. I think everyone can agree that if not for the efforts and sacrifice of these first responders, the toll in human lives from these attacks would have been far higher. We are truly blessed that there are men and women who willingly put themselves in harm’s way to assist and save people who they have never even met.
