Man accused in wreck that killed highway worker
BELLEVILLE – A southern Illinois man faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted of charges that accuse him of causing a wreck that killed a highway construction worker.
Prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged 35-year-old Michael Jeter of West Frankfort with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence.
State's Attorney Brendan Kelly says Jeter was on a sedative, the sleep aid Ambien and an antihistamine at the time of the wreck last May on Interstate 64.
