Thrift shop created from owner's auction hobby
CRYSTAL LAKE – Mitch Schaffer never really meant to open a thrift shop.
It's just, as the items piled up from his hobby – buying the contents of storage lockers for cheap at area auctions – Schaffer had to figure out what to do with all the extra stuff. His garage was overflowing.
"I can only keep so much at a time before the city comes out and says I am a hoarder," he said.
