To the Editor:
The night of Sept. 10, I was driving up South Street in Woodstock and several skateboarders came toward me on my side of the street, going down the street. It was dark, but luckily I was able to see them and dodge them.
At the entrance to Emricson Park, a bicyclist went across the front of my car and turned into the park. Next, I turned on a cul de sac and little children were dashing in and out and playing on the street. I had to stop to let them get out of the street.
As it gets dark earlier and earlier, it is dangerous for them to play outside as if it were 2 in the afternoon. None of these children had reflector tape or wore light-colored clothing.
Even going about 20 mph or less, it was difficult to avoid any of them. My heart aches for all those involved in the accident on Franklinville Road.
