Huntley man arrested, found hiding in bushes

LAKE IN THE HILLS – A 19-year-old Huntley man was arrested early Wednesday after police found him hiding in bushes with a hammer near a house that he allegedly was trying to burglarize.

Daniel W. Bockenhauer, of 11606 Lori Lane, Huntley, was charged with criminal trespass to real property, attempted criminal trespass to a residence, and two counts of disorderly conduct in the incident.

Lake in the Hills police responded at 2:15 a.m. to a report of a possible residential burglary in the 400 block of Hebron Drive. As officers checked the outside of the house, they found Bockenhauer hiding in the bushes with a hammer, police said.

An investigation concluded that Brockenhauer knew that people were inside the home when he tried to break into it. He hid in the bushes when he failed to break into the home, police said.
