Candidate petitions to be available in Richmond

RICHMOND – Candidacy petitions to run for president and trustee seats in the village of Richmond will be available at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Village Clerk’s Office at the Municipal Center, 5600 Hunter Drive.

In the April consolidated election, voters will choose a village president for a four-year term, one trustee for a two-year term and three trustees for four-year terms.

Petitions may be circulated immediately.

To qualify to hold office, a candidate must be a registered voter in the village, must have lived in the village for at least one year before the election, must not be in arrears in the payment of any tax or other indebtedness due the village, and must not have been convicted in any U.S. court of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury or other felony.

Petition filing will begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 17 and will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 24.

The clerk’s office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to receive filings, except the office will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 24.
