To the Editor:
I’ve had occasion to encounter several current board members and some aspiring candidate members of the McHenry County Board who have demonstrated to me that they’re willing to spend time getting educated about an issue that in many cases isn’t relevant to the district they aspire to represent, working with a group of people who in most cases can’t even vote for those who are trying to help them.
I’m clearly impressed with James Heisler, Nick Provenzano, Kathleen Bergan Schmidt, John Hammerand, Sandra Salgado, Michael Skala, Diane Evertsen and Yvonne Barnes.
All of these candidates, and many we haven’t met yet, are learning about an issue with some 72 subdivisions in unincorporated McHenry County who live on nondedicated, not publicly maintained residential roads. Roads that they pay tax dollars to the townships for that are excluded because they don’t meet county standards. I encourage others to support them.
