Childhood cancer
To the Editor:
September is childhood cancer awareness month. One in every 330 Americans develops cancer before age 20. On average, 36 children are diagnosed with cancer daily. At present, childhood cancer cannot be prevented.
Our son, Sean, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Aug. 18, 2011. We become one of the statistics.
