‘No’ on referendum

To the Editor:

The county executive referendum has nothing to do with Ken Koehler or Jack Franks.

This referendum, if passed, will add another layer of government, give the county executive veto power over our elected County Board representatives’ decisions, and change our county for the worse forever.

In addition to Koehler and Dick Klemm, we have had excellent County Board chairmen over the past 30 years, including Ron Morris, Clint Claypool, Ed Buss, Ann Hughes, Dianne Klemm and Mike Tryon.

Who has elected the County Board chairman for many, many years? The County Board members we have elected. Our representatives know best who would be an effective leader.

Vote “no” on the referendum. It is ridiculous.
