Seats up for election in public library district

WOODSTOCK – Trustees for the Rural Woodstock Public Library District will be elected in the Consolidated General Election on April 9, 2013. Two trustees are to be chosen to fill six-year terms.

Registered voters residing outside the city limits of Woodstock but within the boundaries of Community Unit District 200 are eligible to be elected. The board has significant legal responsibilities and acts in an advisory capacity to the Woodstock Public Library Board of Trustees.

Board meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.

Nominating petitions are available at the library, 414 W. Judd St., Woodstock. They may be filed weekdays between 9 a.m. Dec. 17 and 5 p.m. Dec. 24. The ending date may be subject to change.

Signatures from a minimum of 23 registered voters are required to file nominating petitions, as well as a 2012 receipt from the McHenry County Clerk for filing a Statement of Economic Interests.
