STURGEON BAY, Wis. – The attorney for an Illinois man accused of killing his pregnant friend in Door County says he'll ask for a change of venue in the case.

Brian Cooper is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of 21-year-old Alisha Bromfield and her unborn daughter at the Sand Bay Resort near Sturgeon Bay last month. He also faces a third-degree sexual assault charge. Defense attorney Shane Brabazon told a Door County judge Thursday he's working on the venue change request.

Authorities have said Cooper and Bromfield, both from Plainfield, were in Door County for a wedding. They said that Bromfield rebuffed Cooper's desire for a romantic relationship.
