2nd man charged in theft of Obama campaign checks
CHICAGO – A second suburban Chicago man has been charged in the theft of two checks totaling more than $50,000 from President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters.
A judge on Saturday set bail at $100,000 for Jessie Adams of Joliet.
Authorities say the checks were made out to legitimate businesses. Adams is accused of instructing the other suspect and a third still at large to open bank accounts under the names of the businesses so they could deposit the checks. He is charged with organizing a financial criminal enterprise.
