BARTLETT – When a team can put four runners in the top 10 at a cross country invitational, there is a good chance they'll pull out a victory.
That's exactly what Jacobs' boys team did Saturday in winning the Bartlett Invitational with 45 points at Sunrise Park.
Matt Johnson (15:48.2) came in second for Jacobs. He was followed by Tyler Estell (15:58.5) in seventh, Pat Nerja (15:59.4) in eighth and Ryan Ross (16:01.3) in 10th.
Evan Prizy of Schaumburg edged Johnson with a time of 15:42.4 in the 13-team invitational. Huntley and Crystal Lake South participated as well, taking sixth and seventh respectively.
The top finisher for Huntley was Keagan Smith (15:59.7), who came in ninth. Crystal Lake South's Duncan Henderson (16:14.6) led the Gators with a 19th-place finish.

Huntley 0, DeKalb 0: The windy conditions proved too much as Huntley and DeKalb played to a scoreless draw. Austen Emery recorded three saves for Huntley (10-3-1) in the nonconference game.
Prospect 1, CL South 0: At Crystal Lake, despite two saves each from Gus Alvarez and Steven Follmer, the Gators lost to Prospect in a nonconference game.
