Memorial service to be held in 1978 cold case
CHICAGO (AP) — Family members of an Illinois man who went missing 34 years ago will finally lay his remains to rest.
Funeral services are Tuesday in central Illinois for Daniel Noe (NOH'-ee), a 22-year-old who went missing in 1978 while hitchhiking from Washington state back to Illinois. A wake will be held Monday.
Authorities identified his remains last week during renewed efforts to identify more victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Police say that Noe's death has no connection to the Gacy murders.
