Panic time

To the Editor:

It seems to me that Gov. Mitt Romney is in full panic mode now that he has tried every dirty trick and nothing is working. He has called the president every disparaging name in the book.  He brought up the tea party favorite, Paul Ryan. He got Ryan to tell a bunch of lies at the convention. He got Condoleezza Rice to tell a bunch of lies at the convention. He’s spent untold millions of dollars in the battleground states.  He went to Europe and insulted our best allies over there for no reason.

Still no one seems to like the poor fellow. He has proved himself clueless on foreign policy. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has studied his tax cut for the rich while increasing the military budget and found that it will actually worsen the debt crisis.

Now, he has told the U.S. that he won’t represent 47 percent of us because we didn’t vote for him. This is the 47 percent who are retired, working poor or students who pay no federal income taxes. Studies show that these people are white, middle class, living in the South and mostly vote Republican. I guess he only wants Democrats to vote for him.

I just wonder why he is behind 5 percent in every reputable poll. The president doesn’t even need to campaign as ole Mitt shoots himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth.
