CHICAGO (AP) — Federal prosecutors are suing a Crystal Lake group that provides activities for the disabled, claiming they discriminate against those with epilepsy.

Acting U.S. Attorney Gary Shapiro announced the lawsuit Monday against the Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association. The lawsuit claims NISRA violates the Americans with Disabilities Act when it refuses to administer anti-seizure medication to those with epilepsy. Prosecutors are seeking a court order that would require the group to administer the medication.

NISRA executive director Brian Shahinian said the group had no comment because it hadn't received the filing. NISRA is a group of 13 park districts and municipal recreation department that provide programs for children and adults with disabilities.
