Missing Ill. woman found dead in car in Ind. creek

WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. — Western Indiana police say the husband of an Illinois woman who went missing Friday night found her dead in her overturned car in a rural creek.

The body of 50-year-old Wynnette Werkheiser of Rossville, Ill., was found Sunday in a creek in Warren County, which abuts the Indiana-Illinois state line.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says Werkheiser's 1996 Chrysler Concorde had left a county road for unknown reasons and landed on its top in a creek. Werkheiser's death remains under investigation.
