Based on record, DUI refiled as a felony
WOODSTOCK – Prosecutors dropped misdemeanor charges and refiled them as felonies in the case of a Crystal Lake man accused of driving while intoxicated, three years after he was convicted of being drunk and driving a snowmobile in a crash that killed his friend, TV anchorman Randy Salerno.
Scott D. Hirschey, 49, was arrested July 27 by Crystal Lake police on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence and several traffic offenses.
He now is charged with felony DUI because of his criminal record.
