Cary Country Club offers golf clinics for women

CARY – Cary Country Club plans a series of golf clinics for women, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The clinics, designed to improve golf skills, appreciation and enjoyment of the game, will be at the club, 2400 Grove Lane in Cary.

Don Rourke, a professional golf instructor, will teach the classes, which will focus on putting and chipping.

“The best way for a golfer to improve their game is to concentrate on the short game,” Rourke said in a news release. “We also want to make women feel at ease in developing their skills in a no-pressure environment. Our classes will be for women only. The most important thing is for the students to be comfortable and have fun.”

The cost for each participant is $18 and includes lunch in the clubhouse restaurant. Three lunch options will be offered.

To ensure that each student gets the most from the class, no more than 20 entrants will be enrolled.

To register, call the golf shop at 847-639-3161.
