Good Shepherd offers yoga class for new moms

BARRINGTON – Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital offers a postnatal class that will jump-start new mothers’ healthy routine.

“Yoga After Baby” incorporates gentle yoga techniques to strengthen and restore mind and body.

The first few weeks after women give birth can be overwhelming. It’s important they schedule time for themselves to relax and recover.

Classes are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Oct. 4, 11 and 18, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 W. Route 22, Barrington.

Mothers who are at least six weeks postnatal (and their children) are invited to attend. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and yoga mat for practice, along with a note of approval from a doctor.

Registration and a $25 fee are required; a 25 percent cancellation fee applies.

Register by calling 800-323-8622 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; use class code: 3B22. Or register online at www.advocatehealth.com with the same code.
